A New Year’s Eve Wedding!
I never would have thought to get married on New Year’s Eve but this was one of THE MOST FUN weddings I have ever photographed! The day started out rainy but the rain cleared in perfect timing for portraits and I am so happy it did because we got some gorgeous portraits with the diffused lighting! They also decided on a first look which made me SO happy. The thing that stinks about winter is that the sun sets SO early. With the first look, we were able to get glowy portraits before the ceremony and then some dramatic ones after! The perfect combination if you ask me!
Catherine and Patrick’s ceremony was small and intimate, which I loved! Everyone in that room was radiating joy for them! It was beautiful! After the ceremony they came down the front porch while their loved ones threw dried lavender in the air – the scent was heavenly!!
Because this was a New Year’s Eve wedding, this was a marathon, not a sprint 🙂 So, we had some downtime before the big reception and we used it to sneak away to the pier for some “Just Married” portraits!
Then, we headed back to the house for the big party! Like I mentioned at the beginning, this wedding was SO fun! Everyone was on the dance floor from the minute the reception started, throughout the New Year’s countdown, to the minute it ended and they had their grand exit at 12:30am!!
Catherine and Patrick, I hope you’re having the time of your lives hopping around Europe on your honeymoon!! Your wedding day was full of love and fun from start to finish! What more could you ask for?! Thank you for letting me capture this special season of your lives!
